School of Arts

Roehampton’s School of Arts was created in 2020 by the amalgamation of our former departments of Dance, Drama Theatre & Performance and Media, Culture and Language. As such, the new School offers an unrivalled diversity of courses in the areas of dance, journalism, drama, film, media, linguistics and computing taught by academics at the cutting edge of their subjects.
We value community and creativity. Our students are creative, diverse, dynamic, and international in their outlook. In all our programmes we pride ourselves on our supportive culture and innovative approaches to teaching, research and practice. We work with our students to nurture their creative, professional and academic talents. Our programmes integrate practice and theory to provide our students with a full and rich understanding of their disciplines and to ensure they have the skills they need to pursue rewarding careers.
You will have the opportunity to work in our dedicated dance studios, our on campus theatre and in our brand new state of the art media centre that houses a 100-seater cinema, hi-tech editing and video production suites, a Mac lab, newsroom plus stylish new teaching and social spaces. We work closely with external arts venues, creative institutions and industry leaders. By studying in the UK's capital, you'll have access to the heart of Britain's vibrant arts community.
